What is shamanism ?

Shamanism is the oldest spiritual practice known to man. It is also my mission in this life, that’s why I created the European Shamanic Federation. In its traditional form, shamanism is a system of beliefs and behaviors present in different types of cultures. It has been propagated in all continents, from North America and South Africa with its animist forms, to Australia with the Dreamtime, to the spiritual forms of the Polynesian Islands and the Asian region. Forms of shamanism were also alive in ancient European druidism and paganism. The word shamanism derives from Saman, a word used in the Siberian Tungus culture indicating « the one who knows ».

In Europe, ancient and traditional practices are still alive especially among the Sami (Lapland). However, shamanism is reliving its propagation in Western culture, through a practice that, without reference to a specific tradition, can be considered as anthropologically shamanic.

The shaman is generally seen as a healer and a mediator between the known world, or ordinary reality, and the spiritual world. He is considered an expert in communication with auxiliary spirits (power animals and spiritual masters) through the change of his daily state of consciousness, thus entering a state of altered consciousness to travel within the reality of the spiritual worlds and  restore power, wisdom and healing for his client.

Shamanic healing practices and knowledges are characterized by common characteristics found all over the world. Shamanism is therefore a flexible system, which has adapted over time. The first shamanic practices documented by the pictograms in the caves date back at least 30,000 years ago.

Shamanism is intended to bring harmony and balance between the visible world, that is often perceived as the reality, and the invisible spiritual worlds. Every problem encountered in the life of the community or of the individual is caused by a lack of harmony in the invisible world. The shaman, with his practices of cleaning of intrusions, the recovery of certain powers or even parts of soul, can bring balance and peace in people.

Only by achieving a balance between the natural and the supernatural the humans will be able to live in harmony and prosper.

Transcendental Shamanism and Healing

What does transcendental shamanic healing mean ?

The transcendental shaman acts in the spiritual reality of the invisible worlds, where he can meet and communicate with the souls of the living and the powers of the Universe. From the shamanic point of view, the disease presents above all a spiritual aspect which must be cured; only afterwards we can get a physical healing in this reality.

Each disease is the manifestation of a lack of internal harmony, mainly due to three possibilities:

  • Presence of excess energy or power

  • Lack of powers

  • Lack of soul pieces.

How does the transcendental shaman understand which is the most adequate healing ritual for a person ? From the diagnostic point of view, the transcendental shaman follows the information provided by the Spirits, which explains why the disease is always treated in a different way.

The transcendental shaman is only a contact point between the client and the spirits coming from non-ordinary reality, or invisible worlds. Spirits engage in the real work of extraction or recovery. Native Americans like to define the shaman the hollow bone, thus showing his ability to let go of the Ego and to be just the means, or channel, through which his clients meet the healing powers of the Universe.

Regular practices:

Transcendental Shamanism and Plants / Drugs

Transcendental shamanism is practiced without using plants or drugs, in everyone's freedom, and in no way replaces conventional medicine.

"Although the use of hallucinogenic drugs like ayahuasca is common, many cultures use repetitive and loud beat or drumbeat to create this same state; Native American culture Ojibwe wanbeno, for example, uses drums, rattles , singing, dancing naked, and handling hot coals. Playing the drum is particularly effective in producing highly concentrated focus ; a number of studies have shown that listening to the rhythm of a drum induces brain activity to slow down to a trance. " Lynne McTaggart, The Intention Experiment.

Drums Meditations ©

Drum meditation © is a sacred experience of reconnection with oneself and the Universe, supported by the presence of a group and led by an expert facilitator.

At each session, a different theme is proposed.

Drums meditation is a simple experience, accessible to everyone, even to people who do not believe they can play, keep the rhythm or meditate ...

Medicine Drum Circles

Everyone is welcome to participate in medicine drum circles.

During the first part of the evening, we play drums and rattles together in a sacred way and we sing songs of prayer and ceremony. In this way we connect with the Spirits, the unique energies of the day, and to the specific needs of the group.

In the second part of the evening, we will live a shamanic healing ceremony tailored to our intention.
